Do the following automobile names also make good baby names? Some parents think so. All of the car names below have been used as baby names (at least a handful of times) according to SSA data. None have become popular enough to land in top 1,000, though.
- Acura – Brand of car made by Japanese manufacturer Honda.
- Avanti – Sports coupe made by American company Studebaker.
- Camry – Mid-size car made by Japanese manufacturer Toyota.
- Catera – Mid-size car from Cadillac and based on the Opel Omega.
- Celica – Sports car manufactured by Japanese company Toyota.
- Chevelle – Mid-size car produced by American company General Motors.
- Chevy – Nickname for Chevrolet, a brand produced by General Motors.
- Elantra – Compact car made by Hyundai.
- Miata – Best-selling sports cars made by Mazda.
Which do you think stands the best chance of ranking one day?

We are trying for our first baby and we are hoping for a girl! If we have a baby girl we are naming her Chevelle. This is associated with the fact that we own and race a chevelle, but we thought it would be pretty and definitely different!
We named our daughter due in November Morgan. I knew that this was a British Car company. The thought did not occur to me at the time when we were discussing/arguing about names. But now I think it is kind of cool.
How funny — I was just talking to a friend of mine last night (she’s due in December) and she’s down to 4 possible names, one of which is Morgan. Out of the four, Morgan was the one that I happened to like best, but I’m not sure which one she’s leaning toward.
I always joked that I would name my baby Tercel if it was a boy.
We named my son Axel. My husband has a degree in auto mechanics. Now we are having a girl and need help finding a name that is a car part. I like Carly
