Baby born on Cape Cod, named Cape Cod

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Dionne White of New Orleans, Louisiana, was evacuated to Camp Edwards in Falmouth, Massachusetts (which is located on Cape Cod).

One month later, on September 27, 2005, she gave birth to a baby boy — the first baby born to an evacuee staying at Camp Edwards.

In honor of her new home, she decided to named her son Cape Cod Bannister — first name Cape, middle name Cod. She’ll call him by his initials, C. C. (“Cee Cee”).
