I’ll be going in the other direction — a 3-syllable surname to 1-syllable surname — and many of the names that I liked next to “Callahan” do not sound so hot next to my fiancé’s surname, unfortunately…

I’ve got a Baby Maeve! I love that name. My maiden name is Blake, and so I never thought I’d have to really ponder what names to give my kids. Then I married a three syllable German nightmare surname and short little names became my friend.
