New York triplets: Logan, Eli, Collin

Identical triplets Logan Thomas, Eli Kirkwood and Collin McGuire were born on February 27th at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.

They were born to Allison Penn, 31, and Tom Penn, 46, through in vitro fertilization. (Allison was impregnated with a single embryo that split in half — then one of those halves split in half again.)

Unlike the triplets born in Austria a few months back, these boys don’t seem to have a pattern to their names. Sure, each name has 2 syllables, includes at least one “L,” and has been relatively trendy over the past decade or two — but those are pretty subtle connections. Many other male names (like Tyler, Dylan, Caleb, Landon and Liam) could be described in the same way.

What do you think about the names? Do you have a favorite first/middle combination, of the three?
