I *think* I can explain Alethea. 1970s television favorite Kung Fu featured an episode with a character called Alethea. (She was played by a very young Jodie Foster!) Normally, I’d say that could NEVER inspire enough parents to break into the Top 1000, but the character’s name was an important plot point. Enough, I think, for around 500 expectant parents to watch the episode and think, “yes, yes we should name our daughter Alethea.”

Nice detective work! I would never have figured that out. :) Thanks!
I very much like Araminta, and I have a soft spot for Abbott, though that may just be my Harry Potter love shining through. ;)
