Six Seriously Scary Baby Names for Halloween

I didn’t have time to pick out 666 names, but here’s a quick list of six:

6. Adolf, but only when used with Hitler.
5. Hannibal, because that Hannibal Lector association is unshakable.
4. Ichabod, because of Ichabod Crane, and because of the name itself. Ich.
3. Butcher: a person I’d want on my football team, but not in my home.
2. Kutattca, which means “bear scattering intestines of a person as it eats him.” Lovely.
1. Monoxide, perhaps the worst baby name I’ve ever seen.

All boy names, ironically.

Can you think of any other scary names?

Damien! I used to love the name, then I saw The Omen, quite belatedly, and I haven’t been able to think of it the same way since!

A lot of people have that same association. :) I couldn’t add it, though, because Damien makes me think of the saint, not the movie.

I have been trying to think of a ’scary’ girl’s name all day– it seems so weird that NOTHING comes to mind…!

The only ones I can come up with are Medusa and Maleficent. And maybe Ursula. (Same with Damien, though–could be a sea-witch, could be a saint. Associations from both ends of the spectrum.)

The actor A. Martinez, from the new defunct soap opera “Santa Barbara”, Was an Adolf.

I always think of Morticia (which comes from ‘mortis’ meaning death, & its so close to mortician) from The Addams Family (probably because i love that show). Wednesday is gives off a scary vibe as well. Both these names are on my GP list, i love them, but would NEVER use them unfortunately! Also, Dementia & Blair (witch project)

For boys, Voldemort & Darth Vadar.

I think Adolf & Hitler are the scariest names on the list imo.

Delilah and Jezebel are two scary names for girls. And what about that snake-haired woman from Greek mythology?

I think the snake woman was Medusa, which Nancy mentioned above. I did think of another girl name– Lolita. By itself it’s kinda pretty, but the images it conjures are not so good.

Alice: good call on the Addams family names! Dementia would be horrible! :)
