Armenian Immigrant Baby Named Angel Freedom

Vardges Hakopian and Siranoush Amirian escaped the strife of their native Armenia to immigrate to the U.S. on 1 January 1991. Hours after landing at Dulles airport, Siranoush gave birth to a baby girl. The New Year’s baby was named Angelika Azadouhi, Armenian for “Angel Freedom.”
