If you were having a daughter, and you had to name her either Savanna or Susanna, which would it be? Why?

Definitely Savannah, with the /h/. This was going to be my name, but someone my mom knew used it first.
I’m not a fan of any of the Sus- names. At all.
I like the Cohen song. Suzanne, but Susanna is close.
I really, really, REALLY, dislike Savanna.. I like Susanna because you could have her nick name be Sunny.
Susanna is one of those names that was NOwhere 5 years ago and is now the talk of all the hip name boards.
And yeah, I love it too.
I prefer Susannah, but I would use Susanna.
Savanna just reminds me of The Lion King (a savanna is a grassland ecosystem. Timon sings about Pumbaa’s flatulence, “He could clear the savanna after every meal”).
I love the name Susanna! It is a Biblical name and has stood the test of time!
I have the name Susanna. I’ve had a love-hate relationship with it since I was a child. Growing up among Emilys, Jackies, Kellys, Lauries, Britneys, and Katies, Susanna was kind of an alienating name for a little kid to bear. There was always Suzie, but that didn’t help much for my perceived intelligence. Savannah is a lot fresher and feistier.
Savanna is the name of my 4 year old and it is also my favorite name along with her sisters name Sierra. How could anyone dislike those names?
Susanna(h), for sure. I’m highly considering it right now. Also, to me, Savanna just seems… a bit ugly…
Susannah seems a lot uglier than Savanna!
How could anyone prefer Susannah over Savannah? SAVANNAH is the much more BEAUTIFUL name point blank! There is a movie (Savannah Smiles) that was wildly popular in the 80’s starring Bridgette Andersen that popularized the name Savannah. I reccomend those of you interested to rent it. I also like Susannah…but it doesn’t even close at all.
Susannah. Savannah is more dated, or it will be, anyway. Susannah is more classic. Also it honors my mom. Her name is Ruthanna Sue.
Exactly, in a few years Savannah will be the new Amy or even Samantha.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It is a shame that some people have “ugly” things to post about beautiful names.
