Baby Named for Fallen Firefighter

On December 23, firefighter James M. Rice died while fighting an electrical fire in an apartment building in Peabody, MA.

Lisa Jaber, who lived in the building, was not at home at the time — she was at a prenatal doctor’s appointment.

About 11 days after the blaze, Lisa gave birth to a baby girl. She named the baby Bella Rice Jaber after James, “because he risked his life to save our house,” she said.
