Aiden & Jayden top Jacob: Adjusting the most popular U.S. baby names

According to the SSA, the top ten baby boy names of 2007 were Jacob, Michael, Ethan, Joshua, Daniel, Christopher, Anthony, William, Matthew and Andrew (in that order). The SSA rankings don’t account for spelling variations, though, so I’ve decided to create a more realistic top ten list:

Mathew (912)

The name Caden also jumps drastically when “adjusted” (i.e., when one lumps in Kaden, Cayden, Kaiden, Caiden, Kadin, Kaeden, and Kadyn). The SSA has it at #92, but with spelling variations included it probably makes the top 20.
