In mid-1959, New York City police officer Anthony Mantellino was called to assist a Brooklyn woman who had gone into labor.
He ended up helping Mrs. Louise Brown deliver a 5 1/2-pound baby boy in her home.
She named the newborn Anthony, in honor of Mantellino.
