College basketball player Kiwane (pronounced kee-wahn) Garris, who played point guard for the University of Illinois from 1993 to 1997.

His first season, he finished second-best in scoring. He improved to become the top point-scorer on the team during his final three seasons. By the end of his time at Illinois, he had 1,948 career points and ranked as the school’s second-best scorer of all time.

Kiwane went on to play professionally (mostly in Europe) until 2010.
