Baby name story: Helsinki

Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki

This is old news, but I just learned about it for the first time.

In 2005, after winning the 5,000m at the World Athletics Championships, which were held in Finland, Kenyan runner Benjamin Kipkoech Limo renamed his newborn son Helsinki.

The baby, born just 6 days before the race, had previously been known as Tony.

Limo and his wife also have three daughters. I’m not sure what their names are.
