Vardges Hakopian and Siranoush Amirian escaped the strife of their native Armenia to immigrate to the U.S. on January 1, 1991.
Hours after landing at Dulles airport, Siranoush gave birth to a baby girl.
The New Year’s baby was named Angelika Azadouhi, Armenian for “angel freedom.”
