Wylene and Spencer McCollum of Lithonia, Georgia, went on a cruise to the Bahamas in July of 1988.
Wylene was pregnant, but not due for another seven weeks, so it shocked everyone when the baby girl decided to arrive early. She weighed just 2 pounds, 11 ounces, and was rushed by Coast Guard helicopter to the Miami Children’s Hospital. (She was back home with her parents by mid-August.)
The baby was named Emera Cay, as she was born on the cruise ship Emerald Seas off Little Stirrup Cay.

ha! That is not the anecdote I was expecting when I read the title because my mind’s ear heard Emera Cay as an attempt at turning America into a name.
I thought they were going for Camera in pig latin until I read the whole thing.
