Actor Michael J. Fox and his wife, actress Tracy Pollan, married in 1988 and have four children: son Sam, twin daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler, and daughter Esmé.
Aquinnah was named for the town of Aquinnah (a.k.a. Gay Head) on Martha’s Vineyard. The town name, pronounced ah-KWIN-ah, is a Wampanoag word meaning “land under the hill.” Tracy’s family has a summer home in Aquinnah and, according to one of Tracy’s Instagram posts, Aquinnah was “where it all began” for the couple.
Not surprisingly, the name Aquinnah appeared in the U.S. baby name data for the very first time in 1995, the year the twins were born:
- 1997: unlisted
- 1996: unlisted
- 1995: 5 baby girls name Aquinnah [debut]
- 1994: unlisted
- 1993: unlisted
What are your thoughts on the baby name Aquinnah?
