Singer/rapper Azealia Banks has been getting a lot of attention lately.
Looks like her name is based on the flower name Azalea, which has been on the SSA’s list (the long version) pretty consistently since 1902. Last year, 199 baby girls in the U.S. were named Azalea, making Azalea the 1,201st most popular baby girl name of 2011.
So far, the spelling Azealia has never appeared on the SSA’s list. Do you think that will change in 2012?
