In 2012, more than 4,500 babies were born in Northern Kentucky (specifically: Boone, Kenton, Campbell and Grant counties).
According to Kentucky’s Vital Statistics Office, the region’s top baby names were Liam for boys and Emma for girls.
Here are Northern Kentucky’s top 10 girl names and top 10 boy names of 2012:

Here are the top baby names for the nearby city of Cincinnati, if you’d like to compare.
Interesting. Some of the most nationally popular boy’s names are missing (no Jacob, no William, no Jayden or Aiden or Alexander) but the girls are pretty much exactly what I would expect, at least the top six.
Great observation.
Re: Diane’s observations – I’ve noticed the same thing too with there tending to be more regional variation with boy’s names than with girl’s. (This is the opposite of how over time and in general the variation is greater with girls – maybe this means if you’re trying to avoid a popular name your state/regional stats matter even more for a boy.)
