Wyoming’s latest baby name rankings came out a couple of days ago, so I’m going to squeeze them in just ahead of the new U.S. rankings, which will be released by the SSA tomorrow morning.

According to the Wyoming Department of Health, the most popular baby names in 2017 were Emma and Wyatt — same as in 2016.

Here are the state’s top 6 girl names and top 6 boy names of 2017:

Girl Names
1. Emma
2. Ava
3. Harper
4. Olivia
5. Avery
6. Charlotte

Boy Names
1. Wyatt
2. Carter
3. Liam
4. Oliver
5. Benjamin
6. Logan

Wyoming typically releases the top 5 names per gender, so I’m assuming that some of the above were tied in terms of usage. The press release didn’t offer any specifics, though.

So Wyatt has been particularly popular in Wyoming for a few years now, but where do you think it will fall in the national rankings for 2017? In 2016 it was up to 33rd — higher than it’s ever been before. Will Wyatt continue to rise, or has it peaked?
