Check out the -ayden dominance on the boys’ list! Aiden, Jayden, Kayden, Brayden…four of the top nine are -aydens. Crazy.

I like Aidan, Jaden, Caden and Braden, but I hate all of these new spellings. And is it just me or does Kayden just seem so feminine?!
Wow. It’s not immediately obvious from the link whether those already include alternate spellings (I think Quebec publishes that way, for example) or whether further down the list there are even more Aidans, Cadens, and Braydons.
@Karen – You’re right, they aren’t explicit about how they handle alternate spellings of the same name. I’d assume that they don’t combine spellings (doing so just equals extra work for them, and also messes with the integrity of the data) but you never know.
Malta is one place that name-lumps. Irks me every year.
Allison – your name is also masculine spelled that way and I dont see people making comments about it. Kayden is masculine whichever way you spell it simply because it IS a male name.
I find it more ridiculous that people are still naming their daughters Madison, Addison and Hailey considering they’re male names – but you don’t see any comments about that here, curiously.
