What were the most popular names among these babies? Emma and Liam, according to provisional data released in late December, 2022, by the Houston Health Department’s Bureau of Vital Statistics.

Interestingly, Houston’s top girl name of 2021, Charlotte, slipped all the way down to 10th place in 2022.

That is very interesting about Charlotte falling so far — I wonder why. The only very famous Charlotte I can think of is the little English princess, and she certainly hasn’t done anything scandalous [yet], being only 6 or 7 during the year in question.
It could be an early sign that the name has reached peaked popularity and is about to start falling (nationally). In 2021 and 2022, Charlotte ranked #3 — that may end up being as high as it goes.
