According to British Columbia’s Vital Statistics Agency, the most popular baby names in the province in 2016 were Olivia and Lucas.

Here are British Columbia’s top 10 girl names and top 10 boy names of 2016:

The top names in 2015 were Emma and Oliver.

According to preliminary 2017 data (covering January 1st to December 15th) the top two names of the current year are likely Olivia and Benjamin.

Popular baby names in Ontario (Canada), 2016

According to a recent news release from the Government of Ontario, the most popular baby names in the province in 2016 were Olivia and Benjamin.

Here are Ontario’s top 10 girl names and top 10 boy names of 2016:

7. Emily

Boy Names
1. Benjamin

The girls’ top 10 is basically the same as it was in 2015, except for the loss of Ella (which was in 10th last year, but only due to a tie for 9th).

In the boys’ top 10, Oliver and James replaced Nathan (now 11th) and Mason (now 14th).

Finally, according to the news release, “Lincoln makes it in the top 20 for the first time in history of Ontario baby names.”

According to the government of Northern Territory, Australia, the most popular baby names in NT in 2016 were again Charlotte and Jack.

According to the New Hampshire Vital Records Information Network (NHVRIN), the most popular baby names in the state in 2016 were Charlotte and Noah.

Here are New Hampshire’s top 10 girl names and top 10 boy names of 2016:

These rankings are roughly the same as the SSA’s rankings for New Hampshire, the main different being that these rankings put Madison and Logan in 10th place, while the SSA has Ava and Jacob in 10th place.

The state is also keeping a running tally of baby names for 2017. As of yesterday, the #1 names are Charlotte and Logan.
