In 2015, more than 45,000 babies were born in San Diego County, which is the second-most populous county in California and the fifth-most populous county in the U.S.
In 2015, Emma replaced Lea as the top girl name, William joined Thomas as the top boy name, Beatrice replaced Charlie in the girls’ top 10, and Noah replaced Olivier in the boy’s top 10. (Here are the 2014 rankings.)

Emily, the #1 girl name in 2014, was knocked out of the top 10 entirely in 2015. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen before, at least for a region of this size.
New to the top 10 are Ruby and Lachlan. Gone are Emily, Ella, Lucas and Jacob. (There were 11 names on each list last year, thanks to ties.)
